The Village Hall

Pulverbatch Village Hall is open and are taking bookings for hire. Over the last 2 years committee members have taken the opportunity to provide hand cleansing stations, instigate sensible social distancing measures and implement regular contract cleaning.

The Village Hall

Nestled in a conservation area with views over the surrounding hills, our Village Hall serves the communities of Church Pulverbatch, Castle Pulverbatch, Wrentnall and the surrounding area. Once a First World War army hut, the building was moved to its current site in 1921 and has undergone continual improvement through-out the last hundred years but without losing any of its original charm and character.

Today the building offers a modern lobby suitable for small meetings, a large hall with original oak flooring for larger functions and a fully operational kitchen and a bar area. The hall, complete with its own car parking is surrounded by nearly two acres of grassland, suitable for outside gatherings during the warmer months.

Use of the Hall

The Village Hall is available for the benefit of the community. A number of organisations, groups and activities regularly utilise it such as the WI, Parish Council, Yoga and the Over 60s club. It is also used throughout the year for community gatherings such as Skittles evenings, Harvest Suppers and Summer Fairs.

Hiring the Hall

The hall can be hired for private social events and is an ideal venue for wedding receptions, children’s parties, meetings and private parties. The skittle alleys can also be made available for a small additional charge. Please email [email protected] for availability and very competitive hire charges

Financing the Hall

The cost of maintaining the hall is significant and the Committee is continually looking to update and improve the facilities where possible. Funding for these improvements comes mainly from monies made from the hire of the hall and community social events.  We also run a ‘200 Club’ whereby 200 tickets costing £10 each are made available for purchase. A monthly draw is then made with four winning tickets ranging from £40 to £10. Prize money throughout the year totals £960, with the surplus going towards village hall funds.
