Margaret Perkins Charity
An extract from the 1896 Church Charities audited account:- “Miss Margaret Perkins (1840)… left £400 in Government annuities to the Rector and Churchwardens of Pulverbatch parish in order that the dividends forever might be distributed among the poor inhabitants of the Parish”.
Money has been distributed to residents in Pulverbatch from 1840 until the mid 1980’s.
Purpose of the charity:
1. The relief of financial hardship
2. The provision of facilities for recreation or other leisure-time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life of those persons who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disablement, financial hardship or social and economic circumstances
Request for donations:
- The fund is for permanent residents of the parish who are experiencing genuine financial hardship
- All requests for a donation that meet the criteria of the charity will be considered. However, funds are limited and any donations made will be modest.
- All donations are at the discretion of the two trustees of the charity, whose decision will be final
- All requests for donations are kept strictly confidential as agreed by the trustees of the charity and the Parish Council
